The Best AI Mock Interview Practice Tools in 2026 (Free and Paid, Compared)
Google's Interview Warmup was the tool most "practice for your interview" lists led with for four years, and it quietly disappeared in April 2026, which is part of why searches for an alternative have picked up. We looked at what's actually still running: three AI tools people use for mock interviews, plus our own, on what the free plan covers, what you pay after that, and what an actual practice session looks like.
| Tool | Price | What you practise |
|---|---|---|
| Personal Job Coach Mock Interview | Free with your first job, then part of the €19.99/month plan | Audio or text, company-aware once you've run a Company Briefing |
| Final Round AI | Free plan has no practice interviews; Pro is $25/month | 8 formats: general, coding, system design, behavioural, product case, data, salary negotiation, recruiter screen |
| Huru | Not published; app-only | Built from a real job posting, video or text, feedback on delivery |
| Yoodli | 5 sessions free, ever; $8/month for 10 a week; $20/month uncapped | Audio or video roleplay with live feedback |
What Happened to Google's Interview Warmup?
Google launched Interview Warmup in 2022 as a free tool under its Grow with Google programme, and it ran for about four years before being quietly retired in April 2026, with no real announcement. The old URL now redirects into Gemini Live and Career Dreamer, neither of which is a direct replacement: Gemini Live can run through interview questions if you prompt it well, but it's a general conversational assistant, not a tool built around interview practice, and Career Dreamer is aimed earlier in a job search, at figuring out what to aim for rather than rehearsing an answer. If a guide or a forum post still points you to Interview Warmup, that link no longer leads anywhere useful.
Personal Job Coach: Company-Aware, and Free for Your First Job
Our Mock Interview tool sits inside the Job Tracker, so it's built from the actual job you're preparing for rather than a generic question bank. If you've run a Company Briefing on the employer first, the interviewer uses that: the company's recent news, its challenges, what its leadership is focused on, so the questions land closer to what an insider would actually ask rather than a stock list. You can speak your answers out loud and get an audio response back, or switch to text at any point in the same session, whichever suits the moment. There's also a Skill Practice mode for working on one specific scenario rather than running a full interview, and if you're preparing to talk to a named contact, a mock interview with that person's name, title and company context can be launched straight from their contact card. The free plan covers your first job, with the full toolkit including Mock Interview; from the second job it's €19.99 a month, cancel any time.
Final Round AI: Eight Formats, But Not on the Free Plan
Final Round AI's free tier gets you goal tracking, resume and materials storage, and a prep checklist, but practice interviews themselves are a Pro feature, at $25 a month. Once you're on Pro, you set up a "Goal" with your resume, the role and the company, and launch a practice interview in one of eight formats: general, coding, system design, behavioural, product case, data and ML, salary negotiation, or recruiter screen. After each one, you get an automatic debrief, and a "re-drill" feature replays the specific weak spots that debrief flagged rather than making you redo the whole thing. It's a reasonable range if you need coding or system-design practice specifically, which neither Huru nor Yoodli cover, but there's no way to try an actual mock interview before paying.
Huru: Built From a Real Job Posting, No Published Price
Huru works from your Chrome extension: save a listing from LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, Glassdoor or ZipRecruiter, and it generates a mock interview around that specific posting, drawing on a bank of more than 20,000 questions across 300-plus professions that it says were chosen by hiring managers. In video mode it gives live feedback on facial expressions as well as what you say, scores your answers on a rough "hireability" basis, and flags your pacing and pauses. Recordings stay on your device rather than uploading anywhere. The catch is that Huru doesn't list pricing anywhere on its site: you only find out what it costs once you've downloaded the iOS app (Android is still listed as coming soon), which makes it hard to compare against the others up front.
Yoodli: Five Free Sessions, Then a Weekly Cap
Yoodli's free Starter plan gives you five practice sessions total, not five a month, and once they're used up that's it unless you upgrade. Its Pro plan, $8 a month billed annually, raises that to ten roleplays a week and adds live AI feedback plus the ability to upload and get feedback on a recording you made elsewhere. Advanced, at $20 a month billed annually, removes the weekly cap entirely and keeps your session data out of Yoodli's own training, which matters if you're uncomfortable with a free plan's recordings being used to improve the product. Yoodli isn't built only for job interviews, it's a general speaking-practice tool that also covers pitches and public speaking, so the interview framing is one use case among several rather than the whole product.
Which One Should You Pick?
If you specifically need to practise a coding or system-design interview, Final Round AI's eight formats cover that in a way the others don't, but budget for the $25-a-month Pro plan since the free tier won't run a practice session at all. If you'd rather prepare against the real job posting you're applying to, Huru's Chrome extension does that automatically, though you'll need to install the app before you know what it costs. Yoodli's five free sessions are fine for a one-off top-up before a single interview, less so if you're job-hunting for weeks and want to keep practising. And if you want the practice tied to the actual job you're applying for, sharper once you know the company, with the gap analysis, CV and cover letter for that same role sitting next to it, that's what ours is built for, and the first job is free.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free AI mock interview tool?
Yoodli gives five sessions free with no card needed, though they don't renew. Our own Mock Interview is free for your first job in the Job Tracker. Final Round AI's free plan does not include practice interviews at all, and Huru doesn't publish a free tier on its site.
What replaced Google's Interview Warmup?
Nothing directly. The link now points to Gemini Live, a general AI assistant that can run through interview questions if you ask it to, and Career Dreamer, which is built for exploring career directions rather than rehearsing answers. Neither is a dedicated interview-practice tool the way Interview Warmup was.
